Day Four – Let Go!

Today’s Scripture: Exodus 2:1-3, 6:20

Moses’ mother Jochebed took a huge risk by letting go of what she loved the most—her infant son. In defiance of Pharaoh’s evil instructions, Jochebed made a waterproof basket of papyrus leaves and hid Moses among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

Imagine how many infant corpses might have floated by as this desperate mother looked for a safe place to hide her baby. She wedged his tiny ark of safety between the land (life) and the river (death). No doubt, Jochebed prayed for her child’s protection as she released him into God’s hands, having no idea what his fate would be. But, God is always full of surprises.

  • What are you holding on to that needs to be released into God’s hands?
  • How can you ignore what your circumstances look like so you can take the first step to release it to the Lord?
