Day Three – Stay Aware!

Today’s Scripture: Exodus 1:22, Genesis 50:20

When Pharaoh realized the partial-birth abortion mandate wasn’t working, he advanced his agenda by ordering every Hebrew newborn male be thrown alive into the Nile River. Pharaoh’s heartless act meant these innocent babies would land in a body of water filled with crocodiles, hippos, and snakes, not to mention the treacherous rapids and huge rocks that ran the course of the river.

Isn’t that just like the enemy? We take a stand for what is right, and he tries to intimidate us by making it look like he still has the upper hand. When this happens, we should never second-guess God’s sovereignty. Little did Pharaoh know that one of the babies marked for destruction would be raised right under his nose in his own palace by his own daughter!

Now we can understand even better what Joseph meant when he said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done–the saving of many lives” Gen. 50:20.

  • How do you intentionally stay aware that the Lord always has the upper hand?
  • When are those times you are tempted to second-guess God’s sovereignty?
