Day Two – Take gifts

Today’s scripture: Genesis 24:10, Proverbs 18:16, 2 Corinthians 5:14, Romans 2:4

Solomon said, “A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great.” Abraham’s servant applied this wisdom when he included a wealth of gifts for the potential bride and her family.

The Lord’s formula for evangelism is simple: love and kindness. Love is the compelling force that produces acts of kindness. When we are compelled by love, we will not be propelled by guilt or obligation.

Think of the rich things we can give others. Sharing our testimony of salvation or healing, giving an insight from scripture, or just taking time to listen to someone is valuable. Simply having a proper attitude at work, performing acts of service, or treating someone to coffee can go a long way in building relationships. Any of these gifts can make us more effective in leading someone to the Lord.

  • Name other “rich things” that you can give in order to build trusting relationships. What are practical ways you can give these as gifts? Who will be the recipient(s)?
